When I tell people I left a stable career to start a recruitment agency, the first question is always the same: "Why?"
The honest answer? Frustration.
The Problem We Saw
I spent years on the hiring side of the table — working with agencies, posting on job boards, sifting through hundreds of irrelevant CVs. The experience was, frankly, broken. Most agencies operated like resume-forwarding machines. They'd blast out profiles without understanding the role, the culture, or what would actually make someone succeed in the position.
Candidates weren't treated much better. Ghosted after interviews. No feedback. No transparency about compensation. Just silence.
What TalentGale Does Differently
We started TalentGale in 2022 with a simple principle: treat every placement like it matters — because it does.
For us, that means:
- •Actually understanding the role before we source a single candidate. We spend time with hiring managers, visit offices when possible, and ask the uncomfortable questions upfront — budget constraints, team dynamics, why the last person left.
- •Being honest with candidates. If a role isn't the right fit, we say so. If the salary band is below expectations, we flag it early — not after three rounds of interviews.
- •Staying small and focused. We don't try to be everything to everyone. We work across 6 industries where we have genuine depth — technology, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and education.
Where We Are Today
Two years in, we've placed 50+ professionals across 12+ client organisations. Our retention rate sits at 93%, which means the people we place tend to stay and grow. That's the metric we care about most.
We're a small team — and that's intentional. Every client works directly with a senior recruiter, not a junior coordinator reading from a script.
What's Next
We're not chasing scale for its own sake. Our goal is to become the recruiter that hiring managers actually want to take a call from. The one candidates trust with their career decisions.
If that resonates with you — whether you're hiring or exploring your next move — we'd love to talk.
